I went to a Christmas cookie exchange the other day, and while I ate my weight in gingerbread and sipped on a moscow mule, my friends and I talked about our families' holiday traditions.
Some of my favorites are having a baking day with the girls to make treats for neighbors and friends, snuggling up by the fire and watching Christmas movies (Elf, It's a Wonderful Life, and Charlie Brown's Christmas top the list!), planning and getting the girls in on finding a special way to bless a family in need, and going to our Christmas Eve service at church.
As I sit and write, the snow is falling outside my window, and I'm so grateful for the gift of traditions and this season. A chance to stop and rest. A time for family. A season for giving. And a time to reflect on God's generosity.
Here's a few pics of us this year doing one of our favorite annual traditions...going up into the mountains and hunting for a Christmas tree!
What are some of the traditions that your family does every year? I'd love to hear!
Merry Christmas, friends! Hope it is a sweet and joyous week!
