A Bad Case of House Envy

Okay. I'll admit it. I've totally been house lusting this week.

Don't worry. I came clean to my husband. I told him I've been dreaming of buying a cute little 1950's fixer upper here in Durango and putting our heart and soul into making it our own. The only problem with this little scenario, you may ask? I know less about home makeovers than Sarah McLachlan knows about making upbeat music. My idea of a good home remodel project looks something like me snuggled up on the couch with my favorite blanket, cup of hot cocoa, and remote while I watch Ty Pennington say, "Move that Bus!"

But because my husband is oh so wonderful, and ten times more of a dreamer than I am, he sat beside me last night and looked through photo after photo of my dream home via Pinterest. The best part? He didn't even mention how my perfect home was a better fit for Donald Trump's wallet than a photographer and pastors'. A girl can dream, can't she?

Cheers to dreams and creative house musings today. Here's a glimpse into my house fantasy land ...

An indoor/outdoor fireplace, vaulted ceilings, several cute little cubbies/reading nooks, lots of french doors, and windows as high as the rockies. Those are a few of the things on my wish list. Totally reasonable, right?

The one on the bottom right ... color that is to die for. Love that rich blue against the white trim.

Alright, and I can't do a home inspiration post without mentioning my ubber talented and totally creative friend, Regan Foster. Go check out some of his handiwork at Foster Design. I'm totally saving my every penny for him to come and do our dream remodel.
