5 Things I Can't Live Without // Friday Favorites

It's Friday, ya'll! Congrats on rocking another week!

I'm celebrating the upcoming weekend by giving you a glimpse into my 5 Must Haves from the week:

  • My Loki Jacket

Now I'm no stranger to cold weather, being from Minnesota and all, but some of you have been braving some brutal temps this week! And this Loki jacket is just what the doctor ordered.

Seriously, if you haven't heard of this Grand Junction based company, you are missing something glorious. With built in mittens and a built in face shield, you're ready to rock the cold weather...no matter what the temp.

Click here for a link to their online store. My personal fave is the Stockholm jacket. Long enough to cover my bum and cute little faux fur liner around the hood.

Loki - 1. Cold weather - 0.

  • L'Oreal Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara

If you're anything like me ... meaning you are Irish, freckled, and pale as a cracker ... then you'll like this one.

I've been known to completely disappear without wearing mascara. It's true, I don't have the strongest features without the help of a little cosmetics. And while I am definitely no stranger to leaving the house without a trace of makeup, it's usually met with concerned looks and comments, including many a "Are you feeling well, sweetheart?" Um, yep, I just didn't have time to put mascara on this morning.

So if you weren't well endowed with long thick lashes (ahem, ...definitely no jealousy here), then pop over to your local drug store and pick up a tube of this magical stuff. You won't exactly turn Puerto Rican over night, but you will be surprised at the extra va va voom this mascara can create.

  • Love & War & The Sea In Between album by Josh Garrels

Okay, so it's no secret, at least to my dear hubby, that once I find an album I like, I put it on repeat approximately 1,000 times. Alright, alright. It's more like 10,000. And that's just the first week.

I know variety is the spice of life, but when I find music I love, I just can't get enough. This Josh Garrels album is no exception.

Besides being an over the top talented musician and lyricist, I also still claim, with pride, that I rubbed shoulders with this guy before he was so famoso. Thanks to small town Indiana and Muncie Alliance Church for that one. My love for Josh's music started back in the early years that he would play in the Taylor University student union ... and it has only grown since.

If you want to buy this sensational album, head over to Josh's store on his website. If you want a little sneak peek listen, head to his home page and he's got a little free listening for you. Feel free to scroll down and skip to my favorite song, Ulysses. Be still my heart.

  • Stitch Fix

I cannot contain my excitement on this one!

My good friend Kacia who is ubber talented, oh so beautiful, and a fellow blogger extraordinaire introduced me to Stitch Fix on her blog, CoconutRobot. The idea is, you create a personal style profile, then Stitch Fix will assign you a personal stylist who will hand-select clothes for you and ship them directly to your house! You keep what you want, and send back what you don't. No strings attached. No going to the mall in subzero weather.

Win-win.

I just signed up for my first fix this morning and am due to get it in a couple of weeks! Look for more blog posts to come when the delightful package arrives. I'll be looking for votes on which outfits you think I should keep.

  • Vanicream

Okay, so this one definitely doesn't win any sexy points, but it does win my vote for best lotion. With these dry winter months, especially here in Durango, my hands have been dry as a bone and cracking like there's no moisture left this side of the Animas River.

I heard about this stuff from my friend who's son had repeatedly been to Jewish Hospital in Denver due to his extremely dry and irritated skin. She said that the doctors there suggested putting vanicream on her son three times a day, and that was the best antidote to his dry and irritated skin breakouts. Gentle enough for little ones and safe for babes, this cream is a crowd pleaser. I've been lathering up my two little red heads the last few months and I've seen a huge difference.

If you have dry skin, then please go order a little bit of this heavenly stuff from Amazon. Stat. You're skin will be singing the hallelujah chorus before you know it.

What are a few of your favorites from the week? I'd love to hear!

Happy Friday, dear ones! You made it!

xo,
